Thoughts that did not want
to stay in their place.
Welcome to MOREL
Not everything here wants to explain itself at once.
But stay long enough and something begins to answer.
Stories, photographs and small details do not move in a straight line. Every page is a door: choose a thought and let it take you somewhere else.

When you no longer have to prove your worth
Comparison, approval, redemption and the quiet victory that begins when we stop living to convince somebody.

They are threads.
A real life · A chosen name
A real life.
A chosen name.
Andrea Morel is a pen name.
It does not hide a character or invent a biography. It is simply the name chosen to sign these pages while allowing private life the right to remain, at least in part, private.
Behind the name is a real person. Someone who has moved through different places and, at some point, chose where to feel at home.
The place where we are born belongs to our story. It does not necessarily decide who we are, where we belong or who we will become.
There have been jobs, loves, friendships, departures, returns, mistakes, changes and people met almost by accident. Some of those experiences enter MOREL. Others remain outside it.
Not everything that is true has to become public.
And not everything that remains private is any less true.
Andrea Morel also exists for that reason: to create enough distance to write freely without turning a life into permanent display.
The stories may begin with me, with someone I have met, with a place, a photograph or a question. But if, in the end, they are only about me, they have missed something.
Because the writer brings one experience.
The reader brings another.
And somewhere between the two, MOREL begins.
Our perspective
MOREL starts from lives because that is where questions become real. A story can belong to one person and, at the same time, touch many others.
We are not interested in explaining who someone is. We are interested in understanding what that life sets in motion inside us.
Never tell someone’s story without asking where it meets your own. And never tell your own story without leaving a door open for others.
We are interested in contradictions, changes of direction, the right to change your mind and to leave a dream without calling it failure.
A story can be deep without becoming heavy. It can use irony without becoming cynical. It can scratch without attacking.
We do not want to tell the reader what to think. We want to leave enough space for one question: where does this meet me?
MOREL changes together with the people it tells and the person writing it. It is not a promise of consistency. It is a way of looking.
